The signing is said to take immediate effect, bringing ORDER’s brief hiatus to an end. The team disbanded its roster about a month ago, on May 4, 2022. The signing is said to consist of all five players, the squad coach, and the team manager.

ORDER’s new CS:GO roster now includes Jordan ��Hatz�� Bajic, Jay ��Liazz�� Tregillgas, Alistair ��aliStair�� Johnston, in-game leader Simon ��Sico�� Williams, and Joshua ��INS�� Potter. David ��Kingfisher�� Kingsford will continue in his role as the head coach of the roster and so will team manager Williams Gray.

Chris Orfanellis, Chief Gaming Officer of ORDER esports spoke about the acquisition of the Top-performing roster in the Australian esports scene. He pledged ORDER’s continuous support of CS:GO and talked about the franchise’s goal of consistently competing on the international scene. He also made known the advancement of the franchise’s esports program, which he said the new signings have come to appreciate and are eager to work with and represent the brand.

“CSGO has always been in our DNA,” Organellis started. “We love the game and we continue to support it in every way. The acquisition of the top-performing Australian roster will see ORDER fight it out on an international level consistently. This group of players have seen the advancement of the ORDER infrastructure and Esports Program and are eager to get to work and represent us and an Australian Brand.”

Team manager William Gray also reacted to the signing over to ORDER. He revealed that he has been a long-time admirer of the franchise. He also made known his respect for the organization in navigating his way into becoming on top.

“I had always been in competition with ORDER back in the Grayhound days which had given me a unique perspective, appreciation, and respect for them in being able to successfully navigate our corner of the world and make their way to the top in competition, structure, and support,” Gray said.

To show the franchise’s depth in the Oceanic esports space, he added that there exists a reason every single player had once played under the ORDER banner. Stating that for them to make a return feels special as “there’s just no place like home.”

“It’s been a long journey from then to now and it’s been awesome to see them continue to grow from strength to strength to the point where it stands the tallest. There’s a reason every single player had once played under this banner, and for all of us, an even better reason to come back. An Aussie team (sorry Sico) returning to an Aussie organization… there’s just no place like home.”

The release also contained a statement from CEO Marc Edwards. He stated that while the franchise has been integral to the growth of Oceanic professionals performing at the highest level across North America and Europe. They are excited to welcome back an entire roster of former players.

“ORDER has a strong history of providing a pathway to Oceanic professionals to perform at the highest level across North America and Europe, and while this often means saying goodbye to star players, the opportunity to welcome back an entire roster of former players is a really exciting moment for everyone involved.”

He also commented on the organization’s aim to support the team in achieving their goals. Adding that the roster is famous and respected for its greatness and the organization’s commitment to keeping it that way.

“The roster is well known and respected amongst our esports peers and we intend to do everything possible to support the players to achieve their goals,” Edwards said. “With the challenges of the last two years behind us, the team will be able to more freely and regularly compete alongside the best in the world, and we have no doubt this will result in the ability to go deeper in international tournaments, climb the HLTV rankings, and provide the entire Oceanic esports community with a team they are proud to support.”

The Aussie esports organization had last month parted ways with its roster, which included Valiance, J1rah, Vexite, Ustilo, and Tucks. This is the first time in the history Of CS:GO where an entire roster who previously played under a team has returned to the team.

Sico, Hatz, and Liazz joined ORDER for the first time years ago from Kings Gaming Club. ORDER had acquired the entire roster in 2018, being a top CS:GO franchise. The team has succeeded in winning six titles amongst top-spot finishes and tons of victories.

Throughout the whole tournament, Renegades did not drop a single map out of six played and produced an outstanding 96-52 round differential, showcasing they are a level above their regional rivals in ORDER, Avant Gaming and Chiefs Esports Club.

Christopher “dexter” ?Nong and co. entered the ESL One Cologne 2020 with all guns blazing and humiliated Chiefs ESC on Nuke (16-1) and Vertigo (16-4) in what was one of the most one-sided CS:GO fixture in recent history. To that, Regenades added another convincing 2-0 win against ORDER, who put up a solid resistance, but in the end, had to admit defeat with 14-16 on Vertigo and 10-16 on Dust II.

After taking down Chiefs ESC and ORDER, the only team left to beat for Renegades were Avant Gaming, yet even they did not have it in them to challenge the ex-Grayhound Gaming core and lost with 10-16 on Dust II and 13-16 on Mirage.

ESL One: Cologne 2020 marks Renegades’s fifth consecutive tournament title after winning ESL One: Road to Rio – Oceania, DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: Oceania, DreamHack Open Summer 2020: Oceania and ESL ANZ Champs Season 11. Earlier in 2020, Renegades also finished second at the DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020 and won the regional Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship qualifiers, however, had to settle for a 13th-16th place finish in Katowice.

Unsurprisingly, all five of Renegades’ players topped the tournament’s rankings, claiming five spots in the top six. Having said that, it’s difficult to know just how well prepared Renegades are to face off against teams hailing from other regions since they have been playing the same teams for over six months now, none of which have properly challenged them yet – as talked about Renegades’ IGL dexter.

“It’s the exact same opponents again and again, so we just did what we did last time – and it worked,” said dexter.

“We are always expecting change but it never really comes, at least not yet, so we are preparing ourselves, our mentalities, for overseas competitions.”

Renegades are now 22-2 in series across the last six months and hold an impressive 46-13 map differential since they crashed out of IEM Katowice in February. Their next competitive endeavour is slated to begin on Wednesday, September 2, when dexter and his men take a swing at the Perfect World Oceania League Fall 2020. At the end of the month, Renegades are also confirmed to attend ESL Pro League Season 12 Oceania, where they are set to face the same four teams in Avant Gaming, Chiefs ESC and ORDER.

Christopher “dexter” Nong and his team entered the best-of-five (Bo5) decider from the upper bracket. That gave them a default one-map advantage over Avant, who earned their spot on the big stage with a reverse-sweep win against ORDER (2-1) in the lower bracket finals.

Renegades defeated Avant 2-1 in the upper bracket finals on Thursday. The victory did not come easy for dexter and his team over the weekend, however, as they had to play out all of the remaining four maps to claim a hard-fought win over their regional rivals.

The grand finals began on Avant��s map pick, Dust II, where Mike “ap0c” Aliferis and co. got off to a strong start by winning four straight rounds against the heavily favorited Renegades. They failed to take advantage of their early lead, however, as the margin was whittled down to one round at 8-7 by half-time.

Avant quickly picked up the pace on CT-side, winning the opening three rounds to go 10-8 up before Renegades struck back by pocketing five out of the next six rounds to take a 13-11 lead. The favourites’ enthusiasm did not last for long, however, as Avant regained the control of the map by winning five rounds in a row to come out ahead 16-13.

Avant translated their momentum onto Nuke, where they took advantage of CT-side superiority and sealed the first half with a commanding 13-2 lead. While the leaders saw far less success on the other side, they mustered up the remaining three rounds to seal a 2-1 series lead.

With victory in sight, things turned grim for Avant on Mirage, where Renegades came to life and secured an 11-4 lead by the end of the first half. Dexter and his crew continued with strong showings on T-side by picking up the opening three rounds. While Avant managed to win seven out of the next eight rounds, Simon “Sico” Williams and Liam “malta” Schembri carried Renegades to a commanding 16-10 win with 1.66 and 1.50 ratings respectively.

The series came down to Inferno, where the two Australian esports squads went back and forth for the first 15 rounds as Renegades eked out an 8-7 lead. While Avant looked strong towards the end of the first half, they fell apart after switching over to T-side. Renegades came out of the gates flying, defended the bombsite with ease and won seven out of the next eight rounds to claim a 15-8 lead.

With only one round separating them from the title, Renegades let their foot off the gas and allowed Avant to pick up three rounds, but ap0c and his crew were only delaying the inevitable as they couldn’t stop Joshua “INS” Potter from carrying Renegades to a win with his remarkable 1.71 rating.

The win at DreamHack Masters Spring Oceania gave Renegades their second title in the space of a month, as they also took out first place at the regional ESL One: Road to Rio event in May.

INS ended the series with the highest rating (1.27) across both teams, closely followed by dexter (1.25). On the other side, ap0c emerged as the only Avant player with a positive rating (1.07), with Euan “sterling” Moore (0.98), Chris “ofnu” Hanley (0.93), Jared “HaZR” O’Bree (0.88) and Peter “BL1TZ” Athanasatos (0.82) all falling short of the mark.

In that run they have picked up wins against some of the strongest Australian CS:GO esports teams, including Chiefs ESC (16-7), Avant (16-11), Rooster (19-16) and Ground Zero (16-4).

Although they lost Jordan “Hatz” Bajic to Renegades in January and in-game leader Chris “emagine” Rowlands to retirement in February, ORDER have not taken long to rebuild their roster as one of the strongest in the region. Since the arrival of Jireh “J1rah” Youakim from Avant at the start of March, ORDER have lost only six games out of 32 played – a remarkable run by anybody’s measure.

Even those losses came against Renegades and Avant, each beating ORDER three times. While tucks and his team have yet to defeat Renegades, they got their revenge against Avant three times, levelling their head-to-head record at 3-3.

Avant��s most recent roster changes came in January, when they signed Chris “ofnu” Hanley and Peter “BL1TZ” Athanasatos from Chiefs as replacements for Ju-young “soju_j” Jeong and J1rah. The duo teamed up with core members Euan “sterling” Moore, Jared “HaZR” O’Bree and Mike “apoc” Aliferis, who all joined the Australian esports organisation in May 2019.

With the new roster, Avant finished fourth at the Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship: Oceanic Qualifier, fifth-sixth at the Asia Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Oceanic Closed Qualifier, second at ESEA Season 33: Premier Division – Australia, as well as first at ESL ANZ Champs Season 10 and DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: Oceanic Qualifier.

Chiefs ESC have gone through a complete roster rebuild this year. They signed a new coach, Yaman “yam” Ergenekon, in April, while Charlie “zeph” Dodd, Jay “soju_j” Jeong and Declan “Vexite” Portelli joined the playing squad last week.

The average player age of the new-look roster is only 19.6, so Chiefs are evidently building for the future. That investment in youth has come at a cost, however, as their recent play has lacked in stability and quality.

In their last 10 fixtures, Chiefs defeated Ground Zero Gaming (2-0) and Team Skyfire (16-7), picked up a forfeit win against FURY and took down three amateur rosters in Esea open (16-13), R!OT Gaming (16-9) and Rooster (16-7). On the other hand, they lost to ORDER twice, went down to Renegades and were upstaged by an amateur roster, Adult apes.

That adds up to five wins out of nine games played, the majority of which came against significantly weaker sides. When faced against stronger opposition, however, Chiefs lost in convincing fashion.

Renegades’ current roster is not nearly as strong as their previous one, which ended up joining 100 Thieves in October, but that’s not to say this team is weak.

Since Renegades acquired Chris “dexter” Nong, Liam “malta” Schembri, Simon “Sico” Williams, Joshua “INS” Potter and Oliver “DickStacy” Tierney from Grayhound Gaming in December, their only roster change came when DickStacy left the team and Jordan “Hatz” Bajic signed on in January.

Since the arrival of Hatz, Renegades have put up a few solid results in their competitive endeavours. In January, they won the Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship: Oceanic Qualifier and finished second at DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020. Although Renegades finished last at IEM Katowice in February, the Australians bounced back with a successful run through the Asia Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Oceanic Closed Qualifier and claimed the ESL One: Road to Rio – Oceania title.

Renegades are firmly established as the second-best Australian CS:GO team, behind only 100 Thieves. Dexter and co. sit 39th in the CS:GO global rankings, but they could be a lot higher if they had played more games over the past month.

Throughout May, Renegades played only five competitive matches and won all of them. That run includes their clashes with ORDER (2-0), Ground Zero (2-0), Chiefs (2-0) and ORDER again (2-1) at the ESL One: Road to Rio, as well as their recent win over run it back bruv (2-0) at ESL ANZ Champs Season 11.

In terms of raw quality, Renegades are a far better team than Chiefs Esports Club. The underdogs have the potential to grow, but that is about all they have right now.

That Chiefs have struggled against amateur rosters is deeply concerning. What’s more, their new core lineup has played only three competitive matches together, so communication is likely still a problem in this team.

The only thing working in Chiefs’ favour is the online format and the lack of recent game time for both sides. While there is a chance Renegades will be a bit rusty, that is not enough reason to take a chance on Chiefs.

The odds on Renegades are not high and there��s a good reason for that. Nevertheless, the -196.08 on the favourites to win in a clean sweep is well worth considering.

RENEGADES vs ORDER ESL ONE: ROAD TO RIO �C OCEANIA BETTING PREVIEW

The betting is rather lopsided for Wednesday’s clash between Renegades and ORDER in the opening round of ESL One: Road to Rio Oceanic qualifiers.

Renegades have a stand-in coach in Torbj?rn “mithR” Nyborg, who left North at the start of February. Since then, the Danish-Norwegian pro has appeared in a couple of CS:GO tournaments as a player and also coached Apeks at the Europe Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Closed Qualifier. Besides mithR replacing Oliver “DickStacy” Tierney at the helm, the Renegades roster has remained unchanged since they signed Jordan “Hatz” Bejic in January 2020.

Renegades have seen a fair amount of success already in 2020. They placed first at the Intel Extreme Masters XIV World Championship: Oceanic Qualifier, where they lost only one map throughout the whole tournament. Chris “dexter” Nong and co. failed to make much noise in Katowice, however, as they finished last following a pair of 0-2 defeats against Fnatic and FaZe Clan. Renegades also placed second at DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020 and in March made it through Asia Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Oceanic Closed Qualifier while dropping only two maps.

Although the current version of Renegades can hardly compare to the squad that was acquired by 100 Thieves back in October, this roster still holds a lot of potential for growth. They are now the second-best Australian CS:GO team, behind only 100T, and sit 29th in the global rankings.

ORDER are ranked 65th in the world and fourth in Australia, behind AVANT and above Chiefs Esports Club. Unlike Renegades, who have kept their roster intact since January, they have made a few changes in recent months with the arrival of Ricardo “Rickeh” Mulholland, Jireh “J1rah” Youakim and coach Tyler “tucks” Reilly.

ORDER have looked solid with those new additions on board, as they picked up a silver medal at the Asia Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Oceanic Closed Qualifier and gold at ESEA Season 33: Premier Division – Australia. They also made it to the finals of ESL ANZ Champs Season 10, where they ended up losing 0-3 to AVANT.

Much of ORDER’s recent success is due to the performances of AWPer Alistair “aliStair” Johnston, who is averaging a 1.20 overall, 73.3% KAST and 1.26 impact ratings across the last three months. It’s worth noting, however, that in ORDER’s matches against Chiefs and Bantz at ESEA MDL Season 34 Australia, it was Karlo “USTILO” Pivac who starred with a 1.53 rating across both fixtures.

If this was a LAN tournament, we would back Renegades without a second thought. Since this bout will be played online, however, siding with the favourites becomes much less appealing.

These two sides last met at the Asia Minor Championship – Rio 2020: Oceanic Closed Qualifier at the start of March. ORDER started well in that clash and won the first map 16-14, but they fell apart on Nuke (9-16) and Dust II (7-16) to go down in a reverse sweep.

The biggest factor that we need to consider here is that Renegades have not played a single competitive match since then. Rhythm and momentum are huge factors in online play, so it’s difficult to side with a team that have not played in two months. What’s more, ORDER hold a better record on four out of the six maps these two sides usually play on.

There is a lot to be said for backing to outsiders to win outright, but we will play it safe and settle for the +1.5 map handicap at decent odds. Since ORDER look to be in great shape, they should have no issues stealing a map from the favourites.
